What a great post! I had never given thought to a “Generosity Bucket List” but I am starting mine today. Right now my budgeting consists of envelopes for each “bill” and today the new one is GBL…and when opportunities arise, I will write them down and GIVE! Just this past week, I attended church with my brother in San Diego. Their small church (approx. 200) set a goal of 50 shoeboxes for children’s christmas (I can’t remember what it’s called)…and they made 187!!! They had budgeted for the $350 to pay for sending the 50 ($7 each) and now need an additional $1,000! It spoke to my heart that these boxes were packed and wrapped and ready to go…but they have to still pay for the bible in the child’s language and the shipping…this was my recent moment for giving generously, above my tithe. It was much that I gave, but it was within my means. I do believe I have started my GBL already! THANKS for the idea!

I love reading your blog!

I have to say that I completely agree with you. I am one that will usually stick up for the underdog. For me though, your post got to the heart of MY problem. I am not the type to show compassion and mercy for those that I feel have been given either equal or “greater” tools to become “what they should be.” If you know what I mean.

I believe that David would have given compassion to whomever descendant he found of Saul. That is what I learned today. Thanks!
